Something isn’t right with videogames archives

A discussion on the topic of videogame databases, their intended purpose, and their current flaws.
In our current world, the state of videogame archivism is abysmal, corporations being utterly uninterested in preserving their own History, or even cooperating with each other. Paradoxically, most databases of videogames online are owned by big corporations. In this article I look at the two most importants, MobyGames and IGDB, and look into their inner workings and their shortcomings.
